Cappadocia

Cappadocia is a historical region in central Anatolia, Turkey, known for its soft volcanic rock shaped into valleys, fairy chimneys and cave dwellings. People carved homes, churches and underground cities into the stone over many centuries. Visitors walk the valleys around Göreme, Ihlara and Uçhisar, and many see the landscape from hot-air balloons.
