Common questions
My recording stopped when the screen locked. Recording in the background needs the “Always” location permission. Open your device settings, find Sipatra, and set location access to Always. Precise location must also stay on, otherwise the track is too coarse to be useful.
I lost signal during an activity. Is my track gone? No. Sipatra records to your phone first and uploads later, so a track survives losing signal, running out of battery or the system closing the app. Open the app again when you have a connection and it finishes the upload on its own.
I do not want my home to appear on a shared route. Go to Settings → Privacy and add a Privacy Zone around it. Zones are applied on our servers before anyone else sees the route, so the masked part never leaves our infrastructure.
Someone sent me a live location link. Open it in any browser: the page shows the person’s last reported position on the map and refreshes itself. It says so clearly when the sharing has ended.
How do I report or block someone? Open the … menu on any post, comment, profile or place and choose Report. Block and Mute are on the person’s profile, and everyone you have blocked or muted is listed under Settings.
How do I delete my account? Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account. You have 30 days to change your mind; the full detail is on the account deletion page.
I did not get the verification email. Check your spam folder first, then ask for a new one from the app. If it still does not arrive, write to us and we will confirm the account by hand.
Report something urgent
For content that puts someone in danger, or for a security problem in the app or the API, email [email protected] with “Urgent” in the subject line. Do not post security details publicly until we have replied.
