Carpathians

The Carpathians are a long arc of mountains curving through Central and Eastern Europe, across Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, Romania and neighbouring countries. Their highest summits reach roughly 2,655 m, in the Tatras. Large areas of forest shelter bears, wolves and lynx, and hiking trails and mountain huts crisscross the ranges.
