Guaíra Falls

Guaíra Falls was a huge group of waterfalls on the Paraná River on the border of Paraguay and Brazil, submerged in 1982 when the Itaipú reservoir filled. Its former site lies at about 213 m above sea level. Today the area is a reservoir shoreline, and visitors can see the remaining rapids in the nearby national park and the dam sites.
