Ilmen
Ilmen is a shallow lake in Novgorod Oblast, northwestern Russia, at 18 m, close to the historic city of Veliky Novgorod. Its size changes with the seasons, and its flat shores are marshy and rich in birds. Anglers fish there, and people visit for boat trips and the nearby old monasteries.
