The Karla Caves are a complex of rock-cut Buddhist caves near Lonavala in Maharashtra, India. They include one of the largest and best preserved early prayer halls, with carved pillars and a stone arch. Visitors climb steps up the hillside and combine the visit with walks in the Sahyadri hills.
