Ko Samui is an island in the Gulf of Thailand, off the east coast of the Thai mainland. Its granite interior rises to 635 m and is covered with coconut plantations and forest, while beaches ring the coast. Visitors swim, dive, hike to waterfalls and take boats to nearby marine park islands.
