Mesa Verde National Park
Mesa Verde National Park in southwestern Colorado protects well-preserved cliff dwellings built by the Ancestral Puebloan people into canyon alcoves, centuries ago. The park sits on a high mesa cut by canyons. Visitors tour the dwellings, mostly on ranger-led visits, and hike the mesa-top trails.
