Mount Aragats

Mount Aragats is an extinct volcano in Armenia and the country's highest peak, at about 4,090 m, with four summits around a crater. Alpine meadows lie on its slopes, along with a high crater lake called Kari Lich. Hikers and climbers visit from the nearby road, and the monastery of Amberd stands on its southern flank.
