Mount Olympus, called Chionistra at its summit, is the highest point in Cyprus at about 1,952 m, in the Troodos Mountains. Pine and cedar forest covers its slopes, and there is a small ski area in winter. Nature trails, such as the Artemis Trail, circle the summit, and villages in the surrounding hills are popular bases for walking.
