Periyar National Park

Periyar National Park is a protected area in the Western Ghats of Kerala, India, centred on an artificial lake and the forested hills around it. It is known for its elephants and for a wide range of other wildlife. Guided forest walks, boat rides on the lake and bamboo rafting are the usual ways to explore it.
