Rocky Mountains

The Rocky Mountains are a long chain stretching from western Canada through the United States to New Mexico, forming the Continental Divide. Many peaks exceed 4,000 m in the south, with summits around 4,401 m in Colorado. National parks such as Banff, Jasper, Glacier and Rocky Mountain protect their best-known areas, and hiking, climbing and backpacking are widespread.
