Virgin Komi Forests
The Virgin Komi Forests are a large area of boreal forest, taiga and mountain terrain in the northern Urals of Russia, within a protected area. It is among the largest tracts of old taiga in Europe. Access is controlled, and visits are mainly by arranged expeditions on rivers and long trails.
