Banc d'Arguin National Park
Banc d'Arguin National Park on the Atlantic coast of Mauritania protects a stretch of desert shore, shallow seagrass beds and sandbanks. It is an important wintering ground for huge numbers of migratory shorebirds. Local Imraguen fishers work here using traditional sailing boats. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
