Chimborazo

Chimborazo is an extinct stratovolcano of 6,263 m in the Andes of central Ecuador and the country's highest mountain. Because of the Earth's equatorial bulge, its summit is the point farthest from the planet's center. Mountaineers climb it from high refuges on the slopes, and the surrounding reserve protects vicuñas and highland grassland.
