Dhaulagiri, at 8,167 m, is the seventh-highest mountain in the world and lies in west-central Nepal. It rises above the Kali Gandaki gorge, facing the Annapurna massif across the valley. The Dhaulagiri Circuit is a demanding trek that crosses high passes around the massif, while the peak itself is attempted by mountaineering expeditions.
