Eldgjá
Eldgjá is a volcanic canyon in the Icelandic highlands, formed along a long eruptive fissure. Its steep walls and the green moss and waterfalls around them stand out against dark volcanic ground. Walkers reach it on highland tracks and follow short trails inside the gorge.
