The Forest of Fontainebleau is a large forest south of Paris in France, with sandstone boulders scattered among beech and pine woodland. It is a leading bouldering area, and many climbers come for its rock. Walkers and cyclists use marked paths, and the forest is also part of a protected biosphere reserve.
