Franz Josef Glacier
The Franz Josef Glacier is a steep glacier on the west coast of New Zealand's South Island, in Westland Tai Poutini National Park. It descends from the Southern Alps through rainforest close to sea level. Visitors take short walks to a viewpoint of the terminal face, and guided heli-hikes and ice walks go onto the ice.
