Gangkhar Puensum

Gangkhar Puensum, at about 7,570 m, lies on the border of Bhutan and China and is considered the highest unclimbed mountain in the world. Bhutan has banned mountaineering on peaks above 6,000 m, out of respect for local spiritual beliefs. Trekkers can see it only from distant viewpoints along remote Himalayan routes.
