Gargano

The Gargano is a mountainous promontory on the Adriatic coast of Apulia in southern Italy, often described as the spur of the Italian boot. Limestone cliffs, sea caves and beaches ring the coast, while the interior holds the old beech woodland of the Foresta Umbra within a national park. Walkers and cyclists use trails inland, and the coast suits sea kayaking.
