Hoher Dachstein

Hoher Dachstein, at about 2,995 m, is the highest peak of the Dachstein Massif on the border of Upper Austria and Styria. A glacier on its north side and steep limestone walls make up the summit area. Cable cars reach the glacier plateau, and the nearby Hallstatt-Dachstein region is a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape. Hikers and climbers use the Dachstein via ferratas.
