K2

K2, at 8,611 m, is the second-highest mountain on Earth, on the border of Pakistan and China in the Karakoram. Its steep, pyramid-like shape and difficult climbing have given it a serious reputation among mountaineers. Trekkers walk the Baltoro Glacier to reach its base camp, passing some of the most dramatic peaks in the range.
