Karakoram
The Karakoram is a high mountain range on the borders of Pakistan, India and China, home to K2 at 8,611 m and several other peaks above 8,000 m. It also holds some of the longest glaciers outside the polar regions, such as the Baltoro and Siachen. Trekking routes in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region lead to base camps among the great peaks.
