Lake Alaotra
Lake Alaotra is the largest lake in Madagascar, in the central highlands at 751 m, surrounded by marshes and rice fields. Reed beds cover much of the shore. It is a home to the Alaotra gentle lemur and many birds, and visitors take boat trips on the lake.
