Lake Izabal

Lake Izabal is the largest lake in Guatemala, at about 1 m above sea level, and it drains to the Caribbean through the Río Dulce. Forested hills surround its shores. Visitors take boat trips toward the Caribbean coast, visit the old Spanish fort and swim.
