Lake Van

Lake Van is the largest lake in Turkey, in the east of the country at 1,640 m above sea level. It is a salty soda lake with no outlet, surrounded by mountains and volcanoes. Visitors take boat trips to Akdamar Island, swim from its shores and walk in the surrounding highlands.
