The Loreley is a steep slate rock on the east bank of the Rhine near Sankt Goarshausen in Germany, rising about 109 m above sea level. It stands at a narrow bend of the river in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and features in a famous German legend of a siren. Trails along the Rheinsteig lead to viewpoints on the plateau above.
