Masada

Masada is an ancient rock fortress on an isolated plateau in southeastern Israel, overlooking the Dead Sea region. Its ruins include fortifications and palaces on the summit. Visitors climb the winding path up the cliff or take the cable car, and many come to watch the view over the desert.
