Meteora

Meteora is a group of tall sandstone rock pillars in central Greece, near the town of Kalambaka, topped by Eastern Orthodox monasteries. The monasteries were built on the summits in the late medieval period and are a World Heritage site. Visitors walk the old paths between the rocks, and climbers use the formations.
