Mount Amiata, at about 1,738 m, is an extinct volcano with a lava dome in southern Tuscany, Italy. Beech and chestnut forests cover its slopes, with villages on its flanks. A network of trails, including a ring path around the mountain, serves walkers, and in winter a small ski area operates near the top.
