Mount Meru, at about 4,562 m, is a stratovolcano in northern Tanzania, in Arusha National Park, and is the second-highest mountain in the country after Kilimanjaro. Its crater is breached on one side, and the ridge leads around to the summit. Hikers walk through forest and savanna with a ranger, and stay in huts along the route.
