Mount Sinai

Mount Sinai, called Jabal Musa in Arabic, is a granite peak of about 2,287 m in the southern Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. Tradition links it to the giving of the Ten Commandments, and Saint Catherine's Monastery stands at its foot. Pilgrims and hikers climb it by a stepped path or a longer camel trail, often to see the sky at dawn.
