Putorana Plateau

The Putorana Plateau is a remote basalt plateau in northern Siberia, in Russia's Krasnoyarsk Krai, with high points of about 1,701 m. Stepped mountains, deep lakes, canyons and waterfalls cut across it, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Access is by river, helicopter or long overland routes, so visits are mainly on organised expeditions.
