Aïr Mountains
The Aïr Mountains are a Saharan massif of volcanic and crystalline rock in northern Niger, rising to about 2,022 m. Tuareg communities live in the valleys, and oases and dry riverbeds support wildlife in an otherwise barren area. Agadez is the usual gateway, and the area is visited on desert expeditions, usually with a local guide.
