Lake Chad

Lake Chad is a shallow lake in the Sahel region of Africa, at about 100 m above sea level, shared by Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria. Its size changes greatly over time and it is surrounded by wetlands and grassland. It is an important habitat for birds and a source of fish and water for local communities.
