The Ihlara Valley is a deep gorge in Aksaray Province in central Turkey, cut by a river through volcanic rock. Rock-cut Byzantine churches line its walls, and a path follows the water beneath the trees. It is a well-known walking route in Cappadocia, with villages and picnic spots along the way.
