Lake Lugano
Lake Lugano lies between southern Switzerland and northern Italy, at 271 m, set among steep, wooded mountains. Its irregular, fjord-like shape gives many sheltered bays. Visitors take lake boats, swim, and hike the nearby peaks, which are reachable by cable car and cog railway.
