Mount Agung

Mount Agung is an active stratovolcano of 3,031 m in eastern Bali, Indonesia, and the highest point on the island. Besakih, the largest temple complex in Bali, stands on its southern slopes, and the mountain is sacred to the Balinese. Climbers start at the temple or at other villages on its flanks, and the surrounding countryside has terraced fields.
