Ijen

Ijen is a volcanic complex of 2,769 m in East Java, Indonesia, with a large turquoise crater lake that is highly acidic. Sulfur miners carry loads of the yellow mineral out of the crater by hand. Visitors hike up before dawn from the Paltuding trailhead to the rim, where blue flames from burning gas are visible at night.
