Mount Bromo

Mount Bromo is an active volcano of 2,329 m in East Java, Indonesia, standing inside the sandy Tengger caldera in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The Tengger people hold a yearly ceremony at its crater rim. Visitors cross the sea of sand on foot or horseback and climb steps to the rim, often from a viewpoint at Penanjakan.
