Pamir Mountains

The Pamir Mountains are a high range in Central Asia, meeting in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and China, and often called the roof of the world. Peaks rise to nearly 7,649 m, and wide high plateaus lie between the ridges. The Pamir Highway, a long mountain road through Tajikistan, and trekking routes in the valleys attract travellers.
