Parícutin
Parícutin is a scoria cone of about 2,800 m in Michoacán, Mexico, which began erupting in a cornfield in 1943 and grew quickly into a volcano. A church tower buried in its lava field still stands above the rock. Visitors reach the area by horseback or on foot from the village of Angahuan, crossing pine forest and old lava.
