Taranaki Maunga

Taranaki Maunga, also called Mount Taranaki or Mount Egmont, is a stratovolcano of 2,518 m on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island. Its symmetrical cone stands alone above the surrounding plain within Egmont National Park. Walkers choose from short forest tracks to the multi-day circuit around the mountain, and climbers go up to the crater.
