Charyn Canyon
Charyn Canyon is a canyon along the Charyn River in southeastern Kazakhstan. Eroded red and orange rock formations line its sides, some known as the Valley of Castles. Hikers walk down to the river, camp nearby and look out across the steppe from the rim.
