Tianshan Mountains

The Tian Shan, or Tanrı Dağları, is a long mountain system running through Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and China's Xinjiang region. Its highest peaks rise above 7,000 m, with Jengish Chokusu reaching about 7,439 m. Alpine lakes, high pastures and glaciers draw trekkers and climbers, and nomadic summer pastures remain in use in the valleys.
