Issyk-Kul

Issyk-Kul is a large mountain lake in Kyrgyzstan, lying at 1,606 m in the Tian Shan. Snow-capped ranges stand on both sides of the lake, and it does not freeze despite the altitude. Visitors swim, ride horses, and use the lake as a base for trekking in the surrounding valleys.
