Kashmir Valley
The Kashmir Valley is an intermontane valley in the Himalayas of Jammu and Kashmir, at about 1,850 m, between the Pir Panjal range and the main Himalayas. The Jhelum River runs through it, and Srinagar and Dal Lake lie within it. Trekkers set out from the valley to alpine lakes and meadows in the surrounding mountains.
